Paintings in Oil
Roger Clarke Art
Painting in Oils has been part of my life since first coming across the medium at the age of 13. Art became an ever present until I left Art School and moved to London. Sidetracked by a hugely eventful and tumultuous life, it wasn't until a back injury in 2017 meant that I had to start again, and it was to painting I turned.
Launching Roger Clarke Art in 2018, I have gone on to show throughout Queensland, held several solo exhibitions in Brisbane, become a Lethbridge Award Finalist 2 years running, Judged at the Royal Queensland Art Society Member's and sold nearly 100 works globally.
Primarily focussing on my multi-layered, highly textured and atmospheric landscapes, I also enjoy brightly coloured and liquid Impressionist and Fauvist Still Lifes. The former works have become something of a trademark and these pieces often take many weeks and months to complete, due to the technical demands and curing process of the oils themselves, the use of semi dried paints, impasto and glazing.
I exhibit continuously at my open studio at Community Place in Brisbane's riverfront Teneriffe district and also have a permanent and intimate feature wall at the New Farm Antique Centre where a rotation of smaller works can always be viewed.
More Commissions and future Collections are currently my focus, but I am always available for the showing of my works, Art tutorials, advice, commissions and sales.

All my Artwork is precious to me, yet finding it a new home brings a huge sense of happiness, whether to a long established collector or art lover, or to a new client, starting out on the rich and joyful journey of that owning fine art affords.
Most works are framed professionally and in a manner that suits each work individually, unless otherwise stated. Not all works are framed and the price and artwork description are marked accordingly.
I delight in making my clients as happy with their commissioned pieces as they can possibly be. Working to your guidelines and palette requirements and with an open and thorough communication process, your individual piece would be delivered to your delight and specifications. No matter what I do for you, I’m committed to delivering satisfactory results in a timely and professional manner, that both satisfy your requirements as a collector, and my duties as a creator and artistic source.
All prints are of gicleé archival quality taken from professional scanning protocols that maintain the unique colours and tones of the original work.
I am also delighted to help you to improve your own creative streak with either private or group Oil Painting Classes.
